Joker has earned some huge Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Director, and Actor. The film also picked up a number of nominations for technical categories such as sound editing and costume design.
DC fans have a lot to celebrate this morning as the world wakes up to Academy Award nomination announcements. Not only does Joker have nominations in some major categories, but it leads all other films for total number of nominations.

As previously mentioned, we have Phoenix nominated but we also have the movie itself nominated for Best Picture. Add to that the director, Todd Phillips, who could take home multiple Oscars as he is nominated as a producer and screenwriter on top of director.
A number of technical nominations came Joker’s way as well. Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Film Editing, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyle are nominated as well.
And of course who can forget that score! Those ominous cellos have earned composer Hildur Guonnadottir a nomination for Best Score. Cinematographer Lawrence Sher received a nomination for his work on Joker too.
