Now that we’re knee-deep in this post-Crisis landscape, we’re finding out how the events of the last crossover have impacted each series making up the Arrowverse – except for The Flash. Well, that all changes tonight, when the Scarlet Speedster returns for his midseason premiere, “Marathon.”
While there already exists the built-in appeal of what new threats await the STAR Labs crew, the intrigue of adding John Diggle to the mix makes this must-see TV. The Arrow stalwart played by David Ramsey is no stranger to guest appearances on The Flash, but it’s somewhat surprising to see him popping by so soon after his own show concluded.
If anything, we’ll likely see Diggle and Barry Allen reminiscing about the late Oliver Queen. But as other recent reports have stated, no further Green Lantern teases should be anticipated. As you should recall, Dig received his glowing ring near the end of last week’s Arrow‘s series finale, but it’ll probably be some time before the producers can flesh out what that could mean for the character. I can only imagine the restrictions placed on them, what with the Green Lantern series being developed for HBO Max looming.
Beyond this, one could assume Diggle may very well call the gestating Superman & Lois show picked up by The CW his new home before long, as he did say that he and Lyla are moving to Metropolis. Hey, you have to admit that seeing an Arrow alum or two mixing it up with those spinning off from Supergirl could make for some great adventures.
