Summary

The hunt is on for a notebook left behind by the deceased Lucius Fox. It seems that Tommy Elliott, a resident of Arkham Asylum has possession of it. Now Kate finds herself in pursuit of the book, along with Alice and Magpie. Who will possess the book first? And just what is in it’s pages?

Batwoman 1x18

Positives

This perhaps was one of the best episodes I’ve seen in a long time from Batwoman. Immediately within the first few seconds of “If You Believe In Me, I’ll Believe In You”, we’re hit with action. Batwoman is seen taking apart a crew of thugs on the docks of Gotham. Completely over the death of Cartwright in this episode, Kate is back giving out justice on the streets. Julia Pennyworth makes a return on this episode, as Kate needs her help to infiltrate a nightclub where Lucius Fox’s notebook is located. Batwoman ends up captured, however thanks to the quick thinking of Mary and Luke Fox, she’s soon freed and back in pursuit of the notebook.

Batwoman 1x18

Negatives

I actually have no complaints about this episode. The action was intense and all over the place. As far as fighting goes this is probably the best I’ve seen in a Batwoman episode. Mary is also now a member of the team thanks to her quick thinking in saving Kate. I was hoping she would’ve been added earlier, but I’m satisfied nonetheless. Alice is still in Arkham Asylum running everything with Mouse disguised as the chief physician. With unlimited access to the Asylum now, it’s Alice that attempts to make a deal with Tommy Elliott for possession of the notebook.

Batwoman 1x18

Verdict

Overall I thought Batwoman 1×18 was a great episode. I definitely hope we see more like this in the future. The addition of Hush at the end was an especially nice treat, and I hope it wasn’t just a tease. As the show goes on, I’d like to see Batwoman take on more of Batman’s rogues, especially with Alice and Mouse running Arkham Asylum now. I wonder who else is hiding behind the Asylum’s walls? Only time will tell.
