Summary
Following the events of Infinite Frontier #1, The Joker is the most wanted man in the world!
Positives
James Tynion IV is adding ingredients to this story like a master chef! i cannot keep up as it took several readings of this book to just drink in the different components he has added. First and foremost, a female “Bane”? Who is this muscular brunette and what role does she play in Bane’s revenge? And is Bane still alive…remember issue #1 left us in suspense on this question.
Who is the Sampson Family and what do they want with Joker? Don’t mess with Texas and particularly this haunted extension of a family bent on killing Joker.
Joker is one step ahead of his vacation host. But he may be running out of places to hide as the walls are closing in between Jim Gordon’s new role as judge, jury and possible executioner. Tynion IV has written Gordon as a father on the brink that will not stop until he has had revenge and taken Joker down permanently – Batman or no Batman.
Court of Owls….cliffhanger ….well played Mr. Tynion IV….well played!
Positives 2.0
Guillem March!!! If I could shout it any louder on the page I would. When you look at the contributed frames in this article, let the sharp pens wash over you and check out those colors from .
Both have out all the crayons in the box to allow the reader to know, this book is one for the ages on your comic shelf!
Second Verse is as Good as the First!
Sam Johns contributes a Punchline: Chapter 2 that is brewing on the back burner. Punchline has rose through the prison ranks and is a major thorn in the side of the Queen of Spades. I am a bit amazed at the influence Punchline now has on the landscape, but with her being the major “squeeze” of Joker now…membership has it’s privileges.
Negatives
None…seeds are being planted for a “long ball” game with The Joker, Bane, Gordon, and Punchline. Now add in the Court of Owls and this new juiced up Female Bane. Thrown in a Texas family bent on revenge. Joker’s walls are closing in!
Verdict
BUY THIS BOOK! For those lucky enough to get on the ground floor of anything that James Tynion IV does, he’s one of the hottest authors the past few years. I am not sure how his imaginative faucet gets turned on, or where he is creating Joker stories. But I am drinking from his fire hydrant! This should be on your shelf!
