As Comic-Con at Home’s weekend festivities continue, one of the latest panels to hit the web brings us to a highly anticipated animated sequel. We are, of course, talking about Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms.

Following up on the success of last year’s Scorpion’s Revenge, the upcoming flick looks to generously expand upon this retelling of the martial arts epic. And if you were to ask me, this foray is (severed) head and shoulders above the recent live action reboot. Time will tell if the sequel holds up to its predecessor, sure, but Warner Bros. Animation has a sterling track record. That said, I have a certain amount of confidence going in to my viewing experience.

When it comes to the panel itself, it was moderated by Joshua Gray and included the likes of Joel McHale (Johnny Cage), Dave B. Mitchell (Raiden, Kintaro, and Sektor), Jordan Rodrigues (Liu Kang), producer Rick Morales, screenwriter Jeremy Adams, and creative consultant and Mortal Kombat franchise co-creator Ed Boon.

In addition to that treat, we’ve also been supplied with a trio of new images from the movie. Enjoy!

Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms will be available on Blu-ray, 4K UHD Combo Pack, and Digital on August 31.
