Summary

Stan Stratton, a simple office worker, discovers some shady business going on at work. He takes it to his bosses, but they don’t want to hear about it. So, what can he do? He must find a way to go above their heads without raising suspicion.

Positives

The Terrific Three #0 comes from fledgling comics publisher Atlantic Comics, and acts as an introductory story, setting up some of the characters, as well as showing us the catalyst for what will inevitably take place. We get to meet Stan, who seems like a mild-mannered family man, just trying to do his best at his job to support the ones he loves. But his honesty and uncorrupted moral code may provide him with some problems along the way. Hopefully, he’ll be able to stand tall throughout.

The subtitle of this issue, “Before The Storm,”  indicates that something big is on the way, and this is confirmed by what happens at the end. What exactly will this do to Stan’s life? We don’t quite know yet, but writer Todd Doten has teased up a major change for his like, so you don’t want to miss that.

I also liked Revo Yanson’s art here. It was bold and popped off the page.

Negatives

My biggest issue with this was that, based on the cover, I was expecting to see some superhero action, or at least the origin of how he comes to don the suit, but that doesn’t happen.

I also think the lettering could use a little work, but otherwise, I enjoyed the issue.

Verdict

The Terrific Three #0 was a short prelude for what is to come, and it definitely got me intrigued. Hopefully, the superheroics will be on full display once issue #1 hits the stands. Be sure to order your copy today!
