Summary
My Adventures With Superman 2×05 – Superman has been selected as one of Metropolis’ most eligible bachelors. Lois and Clark have to cover the event- much to the dismay of Lois. Meanwhile, Jimmy has a date with an unknown girl.
Positives
This is one of the funniest episodes I’ve seen so far in season two. The relationship between Lois and Clark is put to the test when Superman is nominated as one of Metropolis’ most eligible bachelors. Clark personally is shocked — and partly honored. It was pretty funny that Lois is chosen to cover the story here, and her inability to keep her emotions in check just built on that humor.
Hank Henshaw makes another appearance in this episode, and once again makes his hatred for Superman, and aliens in general, known. However, a certain Gotham native also makes an appearance, and I was generally surprised by this. The writers of this show love their subtle introductions to other characters, and I’ve come to expect them myself.
Negatives
My only complaint with this episode is Kara’s introduction to Superman. Not knowing who Kara actually is, Jimmy Olsen goes from spending an entire day with her, to seeing her fight Superman. I have to admit, I’m not used to seeing Kara being an enemy first towards Clark, but I’m thinking at some point she’ll come around to his side. The fight itself was amazing, but you can tell Superman was holding back and trying to talk some sense into his cousin.
Verdict
My Adventures With Superman 2×05 was a great episode that had a good balance of humor and action. Lois was particularly funny here, and her reactions to Superman being flirted with by other women is hilarious. Also, I enjoyed Jimmy’s date with Kara. If anything, I believe that Jimmy might be the one to help Kara see the error of her ways.
