Summary

My Adventures With Superman 2×08 – Lois and Jimmy confront Kara and make a plan to rescue Clark. Meanwhile, Brainiac delves into Superman’s mind to figure out what makes him tick…and how to tear him apart.

Positives

With Brainiac holding Superman captive onboard his ship still, the villain attempts an assault on Superman’s memories. At first pitting him in simulations of previous battles against some of his worst villains, Brainiac is making an attempt to find out Superman’s weakness or fatal flaw. With each playback in the simulation, Brainiac grows frustrated as he seems to not be able to point out the cause of Superman’s relentless strength and refusal to give up in the midst of defeat.

It’s not until he sees a simulation of a speech made by Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen that Brainiac sees the truth–Superman’s true strength and weakness is linked to the relationship with his friends. “The Death of Clark Kent” shows us this through these simulations as they’re repeated over and over, slowly breaking down Superman’s resolve. I must admit, I didn’t expect to see what happened next, and I’m eager to see what happens when this version of Brainiac makes its way to Earth, and especially Metropolis.

Negatives

I have no complaints about this episode.

Verdict

My Adventures With Superman 2×08 was a great episode and I’m eager to see what happens next. It seems that Brainiac’s overall plan involving Superman has worked; however, there is one thing he didn’t plan on–Kara realizing she made a mistake by joining him. I think she’ll be a major player in the battles ahead and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
