Saturday, Day 2 of the 2018 Baltimore Comic Con!
Today was going to be an extremely busy day full of panels, cosplay, and topped off at night by the second annual Ringo Awards dinner and ceremony!
Heading into the con I made a quick stop to pick up a few hardcovers and some more mini-figs!
Next I made my way to the Jim Steranko Spotlight panel. I’ve known Jim for a few years now and have been lucky enough to work for him on occasion. I was extremely excited to see his return to Baltimore, I’ve been pestering Jim and the people of BCC for his return for a number of years now and I’m glad it finally paid off!
The Arthur Adams Spotlight panel was just around the corner, I hope you enjoy!
Some great insight from legendary writers Mark Waid, Denny O’Neil, and John Ostrander on team dynamics!
Robert Greenberg moderates an excellent panel on Shazam. Sitting on the panel we have Jerry Ordway who handled in my opinion the definitive Shazam series “The Power of Shazam” if you have not read this series seek it out now! Jeff Parker who along with Evan “Doc” Shaner handled another of my favorite takes on the character in the “Convergence Shazam” mini-series. Legendary DC scribe Denny O’Neil who brought the character under the DC logo for the first time with his series “Shazam The Original Captain Marvel” along with the characters original golden age series artist C.C. Beck. Last, but not least is Kevin Maguire who only drew the character for a couple of issues in the fan favorite “Justice League of America” and has no idea why he is on panel, Bwhahahaha!
Howard Chaykin and Dean Haspiel……….Need I say more?
Walter Simonson and John Workman are two of the nicest guys you will ever meet, I had the pleasure of sitting at their table at last years Ringo Awards ceremony! Sadly, my batteries were depleted from the previous panels and I missed the last 20 minutes of Q and A from the audience.
Wow, what a day! Now to freshen up a bit and head on over to the Ringo Awards ceremony!
