Starting in Batman Eternal #3 Gotham will see the return of one Stephanie Brown. Starting out as the estranged hero called the Spoiler, Stephanie did a should term run as the first female Robin. She was fired by the Bat before be tortured and killed by Black Mask.

Although her death was not a huge event like that of Jason Todd she was a fan favourite for years when she returned, mysteriously, and took on the cape and cowl of Batgirl before Barbara Gordon returned.
Scott Snyder made the announcement on a panel at the NYC Comic Con. Snyder also commented that co-writer James Tynion was the idea man behind Brown’s return to the New 52.
