The Joker is getting his own solo film.
This October, “The Clown Price of Crime” is getting a solo shot at the big screen but this time it won’t be starring Jared Leto. Â Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix will be total divorced from the DCEU. Â Despite Phoenix dawning the make-up and purple suit, Leto has not given up on the character completely.
“I would definitely play the Joker again. Â It all depends on the script and the circumstances, as it always does. Â I loved it. Â I love these films because they get people excited to go to the movies again, or just period, I don’t know about again. Â So I think that’s a miracle. Â Five, ten years ago, I don’t know if we thought there would be people this excited to go to the movies this weekend. Â So I think that’s a celebration. Â It created a mythology that people love, and the actors are phenomenal. I’m all in. Â I love it. Â I think it’s a blast.”
With all of the success of superheroes movies over the past 10 years there is no mystery why an actor like Leto would be excited to be a part of a larger universe. Â While Leto’s future as The Joker up in the air, his attitude towards another shot at the iconic character is definitely positive.
