As “Batman vs Superman” draws closer, the movie has gained a trio of diverse actors to play unnamed roles. Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, and Tao Okamoto have recently been casted to play characters “newly created for the film” as said by director Zack Snyder.
But this wouldn’t be the first time a director has tried to ward off fan speculation due to a movie casting and with a movie of this magnitude surely there are multiple DC characters that these actors could play. Even if they are original characters one has to assume they would have drawn inspiration from a DC character counterpart. Below are some ideas of who each actor could be playing, or who their original character is drawing inspiration from.
Holly Hunter
The Oscar winning actress has a lot of possibilities she can play, she has the ability to play a character as regal as an Amazon alongside Gal Gadot. Or perhaps take the villain route and be the right hand woman to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor.
Callan Mulvey
The star of 300:Rise of an Empire brings immediate badassery to the table and is sure to play a character not shy to action. Besides the obvious possibility of being a Lex Luthor henchmen, Mulvey has been the center of fan speculation for a number of villains fans would like to see portrayed, maybe Metallo perhaps?
Tao Okamoto
The Japanese actress is switching sides from Marvel to DC as she played Mariko Yashida in “The Wolverine” back in 2013. Â She’s a little bit harder to predict based on the fact that we haven’t seen much of her in other movies before so it remains to be seen if she can pull off a Luthor sidekick or maybe a Daily Planet Reporter.
