Summary
My Adventures With Superman 2×03 – Clark’s life falls apart as The General goes into hiding – in Clark’s apartment. Meanwhile, Jimmy struggles with being a leader, and Lois goes toe-to-toe with Vicki Vale as they track down missing scientists.
Positives
I really liked the small easter eggs we see in this episode. We see Silas Stone, who was saved by Superman in the beginning of the episode, and Silas also makes mention of his son, who happens to be a ten-year-old Victor Stone aka the future Cyborg. Although not shown, just the mention of his name had me excited. We also get introduced to John Henry Irons, who is an employee of AmerTek, a tech company that seeks to improve Irons’ old neighborhood. However, unbeknownst to Irons, he is being used as a scapegoat.
Lois Lane and Vicki Vale go head-to-head to get the story behind AmerTek and Irons, and it was hilarious every step of the way. One of the many things I enjoy about My Adventures with Superman is how they make the characters shine in their own way, especially the supporting characters. Lois Lane running throughout Metropolis competing against a reporter that’s just as determined was very entertaining and funny. As the two reporters both find Irons, they also find out just how serious the situation is with AmerTek, and Metropolis as a whole.
Negatives
So far, I’ve enjoyed all of the character designs in this show, but I have to admit I was not a fan of John Henry Irons’ suit at all. I told myself that it was probably a prototype, so I’ll give that as an excuse, but it looked horrible. Maybe it’s a case of nostalgia from the Superman shows of old with that one, but hopefully, as the season goes on, the design will improve.
Verdict
My Adventures With Superman 2×03 was a good episode and enjoyable to watch. The end of the episode left me wondering as Lex Luthor and Waller make an appearance, and it seems that once again Waller is pulling the strings in the pursuit of Superman.
