The Penguin Panel at NYCC 2024 was full of good stuff! Joining the panel was Colin Farrell, who is also an Executive Producer, Cristin Milioti, who plays Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz, who plays Victor Aguilar, Deidre O’Connell, who plays Oz’s mother Francis Cobb, Michael Kelly, who plays Johnny Viti, Clancy Brown, who plays Sal Maroni, Lauren LeFranc, who is showrunner and EP, and Mike Marino, the show’s Prosthetic Makeup Designer.
Afte a video sneak peak of the next episode, the panel then welcomed LeFranc, Farrell, and Marino. LeFranc noted how she grew up reading Marvel, especially X-Men comics. “Rogue, She’s my favorite.”
Farrell gave due respect to all the Penguin actors, in particular, “Burgess That’s my homie.”
Lauren LeFranc actually started working on the show early, once Farrell was attached She was able to screen 40 minutes of The Batman early to get a better idea of what the character was about.
Farrell praised the prosthetics saying that most of the work had been done for him. That’s a bold statement considering how much praise he has gotten for The Penguin.
Speaking of praise, Cristin Milioti has been getting praise for her incredible performance in the fourth episode. She joined the panel with the other members of the cast, stating that she had been wanting to do a role like this since she was a kid. As for the inspiration for her character, LeFranc noted both Rosemary Kennedy and watching how a Batman villain becomes insane.
This season of Penguin has been better than many were expecting. This panel helped to give insight into the process that helped make it so incredible.
