Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Aquaman and the Others. What do these random DC properties have to do with each other? Allow me to explain
Aquaman and the Others is a book that follows the adventures of the king of Atlantis himself along with a team of humans and superhumans that he had teamed up with long before he became a founding member of the Justice League. The team consisting of Ya’Wara, a woman with primitive dress from the Amazon Rainforest, the Operative, a secret agent who secretly works with governments around the world, the Prisoner of War, a Military Veteran who has absorbed the consciousnesses of fallen comrades from war, Vostok, a Russian Cosmonaut, and Kahina the Seer with a gift to look into the future. The book is written by Dan Jurgens with pencils by Lan Medina and recently the team has come face-to-face with Anatoli Knyazev, or KGBeast, a Batman villain from the 1980’s who is receiving a revamp.
Now according to reports from the set of Batman v Superman, there were not one but two dressing rooms that deal with aforementioned characters we had not heard rumored until now. One of those being Kahina, thus prompting us to wonder if in fact the Others with play a role in the newly developing DC Cinematic Universe and “Knyazev” for what we can assume is KGBeast.
Now this may be just a ruse perpetrated by the Warner Bros studio trying to misdirect fans into speculating more about the film or if in fact these are hints at the future of our DC Cinematic Universe. If it is a hint, we could most likely later see the Others in Aquaman’s solo film starring Jason Momoa and KGBeast in the Suicide Squad film.
There have been rumors circulating that Jena Malone who has recently been tied to Batman v Superman will be playing Robin but this recent information has raised rumors that she will be Kahina. This would be interesting to say the least, since Kahina is a woman of color from the Tehran, the capital of Iran and Malone is a white actress.
Batman v Superman has also recently begun filming in Chicago shutting down the Chicago Loop and providing us with looks at Henry Cavill as Superman carrying Amy Adams as Lois Lane. The film reportedly will have its first trailer released later this year with principal photography to be finished soon.
Whether any of these rumors hold water or not (pun intended) remains to be seen, so keep it here on DC Comics News.Com for all your latest DC News.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the titular roles respectively will be released on March 25, 2016 with Suicide Squad reportedly starring Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor later that year and Aquaman’s solo film starring Jason Momoa to be released in 2018.
