In the upcoming Suicide Squad film, a new actor will portray the infamous Batman villain, The Joker. Most people would say that Jack Nicholson is the perfect Clown Prince of Crime. In my own personal opinion Joker has always been Mark Hamill from Batman: The Animated Series. Taking on the role of such a prominent villain in all of comic book history has got to take a mental toll. No example ended more tragically than the death of Heath Ledger.
No one can say that his depiction of The Joker directly lead to his death. Ledger is a method actor that is known to take his role preparation to the extreme.
Ina recently released documentary surrounding the life and death of Heath Ledger, his father spoke about his dedication to The Dark Knight. The journal was ended with two words written in large font on the last page. “Bye, Bye.” Check out the documentary at vimeo.com/ondemand
