During a press tour for his upcoming film The Finest Hours, Pine confirmed that he will indeed be starring in the upcoming Wonder Woman movie alongside Gal Gadot as the Amazonian herself and directed by Patty Jenkins. Although we have talked about this before, the actor had been completely silent on the matter until now.
“I’m super excited, of course, Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will perform, and we will shoot in film … What excites me most is to turn in a movie with a superhero woman. With a woman in the lead role. I am a team with this intelligent, beautiful and strong [woman] to destroy the wicked and save humanity. The routine, whatever.”
What Pine would not confirm was whether or not he will in fact be playing Diana’s love interest/partner-in-crime-fighting Steve Trevor.
It’s what we assume so far, but Pine stated “I do not really know what I’m allowed to tell you,” and shied away from the question. Do you think Chris Pine is a good choice for Steve Trevor? What other role could he possibly play in Wonder Woman?
Wonder Woman was previously reported to start filming this fall and will hit theatres June 23, 2017.
