Summary
Trigon attacks! Raven must defend herself from her own father! The balance between good and evil is upset, and Baron Winters predicts Raven will die! Is she beyond the help of the Night Force?
Positives
Azure, something cultivated from her nightmares, attacks her, showing readers a vulnerable Raven, one the readers will continue to empathize with. In this issue, Raven is tempted to use her power to ease a friend’s dying relative, maybe even cure them but remembers that no one may know that she has powers, eschewing the classic superhero dilemma.
She also continues to embrace what she thinks is a normal life, as her connection to her mother is what she craves, and she never knew her because of her father. Lastly, we get a big fight where the military takes out Azure, and Raven uncovers a secret lab, giving readers another mystery to wrap their heads around.
Negatives
The story’s pacing feels uneven, but the plotlines more than makes up for it.
Verdict
Buy, as this story gives the reader a different look at Raven, one that is both sincere and ominous.
