The preview is finally out for Forever Evil #2. As Bleeding Cool points out, the Teen Titans headquarters is now in San Francisco, and it looks like the thoughts are going thru the heroes that remain on this Earth about the revelations of last issue. Also Ned Beatty….I mean Otis makes his New 52 debut meeting with Lex Luthor. Besides the Firestorm Rogue Gallery, Flash Rogue Gallery, and Batman Rogue Gallery, it appears we will get Teen Titans vs Crime Syndicate, and Geoff Johns explains a bit on what is going to happen in this issue:
In the last Forever Evil, we saw the Crime Syndicate had essentially taken over the world, and Lex Luthor wasn’t too happy about that. Can you give us a sneak peek of what’s coming up next?
Geoff Johns: In issue number two we’ll delve a little more into the Crime Syndicate as a group and individually, so we’ll get to know Ultra Man, Johnny Quick, Power Ring, and the others. Each one of them has a very different opinion on what they should be doing here on earth. We’ll reveal a little bit more about why they’re here and why they left their earth, and we’ll also start to unpeel another story.
In the interview, we get hints of 2014 items in the New 52 as well:
Can you tell us who Lex is going to open up to?
GJ: I don’t want to yet because it’s going to be a good one. But it’s a relationship that gets established and is going to continue to grow through Forever Evil and beyond it. There’s a lot of plans for these villains, and there’s stuff in Forever Evilthat kicks off the next year of stories and everything else.
Also interesting in the interview and the preview is for YEARS, we have heard about what if the villains take over and what could happen, however it appears the villains are starting to realize (especially the Crime Syndicate) a yin-yang effect or a balance of order and chaos with references to enforcement and infrastructure. If last issue is any indication, this issue should explode with action, hints, and information.
The villains have taken over the world! The Teen Titans fight back! Can the inexperienced teen heroes do what the adults could not? (Answer: Nope. It goes very poorly.)
