The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was last week and Batman: Arkham Knight was a big part of the show. Youtube channel 4Player Network recently interviewed the lead animator for the game.
During the interview around the 4-minute mark the animator mentioned Nightwing and realized it. Here is the video so you can see it for yourself.

Whether Nightwing will be a playable character or a prominent character of the storyline remains to be unseen but the fact that he is in the game is exciting news! Maybe, he will be similar to Arkham City that he is a DLC map pack character.
