The CW has announced at the TCA presentation that Supergirl and The Flash, will crossover for musical episodes for their respective upcoming seasons.
Glee alums, Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist, The Flash and Supergirl respectively, will crossover to feature for the first time, musical-themed episodes for each of their series.
The showrunners revealed at their DCTV Panel, that they plan to use “pre-existing songs” for the musical numbers. However they hinted at the possibility of writing one original song for each episode, on each respective series.
“On all of the shows we like to use all of the actors’ talents. Probably be an element of the songs being in the characters’ heads” instead of being an actual plot point – Explained EP Greg Berlanti.
Supergirl returns with its second season on Monday and The Flash returns with its third season on Tuesday night at 8pm beginning October, 2016.
