Summary

From man to man’s best friend! Mutt has undergone a shocking transformation and unstabilium is to blame! Can he and Dick find a cure back home in the United States? Or will Air Force General Harrier personally make sure the guys are grounded for good? Meanwhile, the president holds a very important press conference…trust us, you won’t want to miss it!

Positives

Dick, still suffering the initial shock that his best friend and co-pilot, is now a…dog, escapes from the hospital, as their attempts to evade military police is interrupted by Agent Perkins, who takes out bystanders trying to kill them. Fortunately, our heroes escape and try to put the pieces together as to what happened, and how Muttley ended up the way he did. Meanwhile, the military continues to drop the gas all over the world, including the White House. By book’s end, not only people but objects and abilities are transformed by this gas, and in ways we only wished in our imagination would happen, all because of this gas.

Negatives

Agent Perkins makes a small but significant cameo in this issue, however I had hoped hey would have done more of a setup for his character’s arc.

Verdict

This story is definitely intriguing combining conspiracy thriller with comedic hijinks, a which is actually elevating the canon.
