After earning a remarkable $820 million and counting worldwide, Wonder Woman has an impressive debut on HBO, with viewing numbers not seen in years. The film drew in viewers by the millions, with numbers that don’t even include DVR viewings and HBO’s streaming services.

Be honest…did you even know that Wonder Woman was streaming on HBO? Our DC faithful probably knew but it didn’t matter much since they probably have a copy (or two) of the movie already. However, for the rest of the world, they’ll be happy to know that it’s not on TV, it’s on HBO.

With an impressive 2.809 million viewers on a Saturday Night, the movie was the most impressive performance ratings wise since 2016’s debut of San Andreas, which barely edges out WW at 2.82 million viewers. Vulture is reporting that the movie even out did NBC Sports Network’s coverage of the Winter Olympics (hmm, Amazons beat out Olympians…go fig) by about 300,000 viewers.

On the following day Sunday, Wonder Woman had an encore performance which gathered another 1.6 viewers – making it the best performer for an encore showing since 2014’s Furious 6. But if you missed out on those showings, have no fear! If you have have HBO GO or HBO Now, you can watch this glorious film anytime you wish (maybe you can keep your second copy of WW in its original packaging now).
