Could Bryan Cranston be the next Lex Luthor? Click the jump to see more.
Have you been watching Breaking Bad? Have you seen the recent re-make of Total Recall? If you have, then you already know the name. Now, say it. Bryan Cranston.
Recent rumors have surfaced concerning who can be the next Lex Luthor. There are a lot of names being thrown around such as Mark Strong who played as Sinestro in Green Lantern  and even Bryan Cranston who plays as Walter White on Breaking Bad. Cranston replied to the rumor by saying this about being cast as Lex Luthor, see below:
Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.
Lex Luthor is anything but sweet, but I’m sure when Cranston stated this he meant that Luthor has good intentions. This can be seen from Brian Azzarello’s mini-series called Lex Luthor: Man of Steel. Where Azzarello narrates the story from Luthor’s point of view showing him as a charitable man who is misunderstood. For those who have not read this mini-series, it’s really good and a must read! According to other rumors, Lex Luthor might be the next character to be in Man of Steel 2 along with Bruce/Batman who has been stated that he will be in Man of Steel 2, which is also known as Superman vs. Batman. Bruce/Batman is found in Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, which, and this only speculation on my part. This could be the source material for the next Man of Steel movie. The story shows the interaction between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor showing their skeptical thoughts and taking actions against Superman’s influence over people. This can be the catalyst for the confrontation between Batman and Superman in Man of Steel 2. When you really thing about Zack Snyder (director) and David S. Goyer (writer) will be incorporating different comic book stories into the next movie. These DC movies are never really full on comic book adaptation, but maybe if Cranston becomes the casting choice for Lex Luthor. He will be able to get a sense of the character from this mini-series. However, this is all speculation and  Bryan Cranston is only showing interest in the role. Warner Bros. has not put out any confirmation on this so this is still strictly rumor.
