Twitter gave Arrow fans a glimpse at one of the most anticipated moments of Season 2 when star Stephen Amell posted a photo of himself and the all-new Black Canary in costume on the set today. Amell, who plays billionaire vigilante Oliver Queen in the hit CW show, posted the photo on the afternoon of October 15 and received incredibly positive feedback. Hints about the heroine’s appearance started last season and reached a climax at San Diego Comic Con this summer and fans seemed happy to finally see the beloved character on the set.
Portrayed by Caity Lotz, the Black Canary character will presumably work with Oliver Queen in his quest to rebuild Starling City. She will also likely play a role as a love interest for Oliver since their comic book incarnations have a rich romantic history. One thing is certain though; Black Canary is not Laurel Lance, her name in the comics, because said character already exists on the show and is played by Katie Cassidy.  Until the character appears on the show, fans of Arrow can only speculate as to Lotz’s role.
