Lots of news as of late regarding DC shows being picked up by various television networks. Fox has picked up ‘Constantine‘ and ‘Gotham,’ while CW has officially picked up ‘iZombie’ and ‘The Flash.’ However, soon after the announcement of the two series being picked up, CW released promotional posters for both shows.
The lead iZombie character is Olivia “Liv” Moore (people, this zombie’s name is Liv Moore! Genius!) is played by Rose McIver. The show is based on characters from DC Comics’ Vertigo comic series iZombie, created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred. The story is centered around a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in a coroner’s office. Every zombie’s dream right? She takes advantage of this situation to feast on brains that she must reluctantly in order to keep her humanity. However she inherits the memories of the corpse by consuming these brains. With the assistance of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.
‘The Flash’ is based off the popular DC Comics super-hero. After a freak accident, the young scientist Barry Allen develops super speed powers, transforming him into the “Fastest Man Alive.” Barry Allen is played by Grant Gustin and the show will likely feature a wide array of characters from the DC universe in a similar fashion that ‘Arrow’ has, another DC comic with a CW television series.
Though we don’t see much more than the lead character’s faces, both posters compliment the shows nicely. Grant Gustin looks quite dashing and heroic with an energetic ‘Flash’ logo adds a nice tough. On the other hand, Rose McIver looks like she’s about to dig into some brains as if it were Chinese take-out with those chopsticks. And yet still looks cute doing it. Not an easy feat to look undead and attractive at the same time.
It’s an exciting time for DC/Vertigo fans as multiple DC shows will soon hit the air. How do you like the two promo posters? Which series will you be watching? Let us know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
