The cameras are rolling in Detroit, Michigan today as the cast and crew prepare to film scenes from the highly anticipated sequel to Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” set to release in theatres worldwide on May 6, 2016.

Military trucks and Metropolis EMTs were spotted on scene in front of what is presumably a LexCorp office building. An estimated 8 thousand extras with a military background were called to shoot the scene. Reports indicate scenes will continue to be shot throughout this week. One can only make one conclusion: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice to film LexCorp scenes. A reporter for MLive was on scene and took the following photos:

This is also where this larger-than-life sculpture of Superman was spotted earlier this week. It remains unclear as to how this statue plays into the film.

Filming for the sequel officially began last month at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location around Detroit, Michigan, Illinois, Africa, and the South Pacific.

The film will star Henry Cavill reprising his role as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Ben Affleck dawning his cape and cowl as billionaire Bruce Wayne and the dark knight, Batman.

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” will also star Gal Gadot as the Amazon princess herself, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Amy Adams reprising her role as star reporter Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a newly created role for the film.
