Mangaka Jiro Kuwata in the 60s pitted the Dynamic duo – Batman and Robin against Lord Death Man, a man who refuses to die. For the past four decades, English readers were unable to get their hands, much less read the work, this has now changed.

Batman: The Jiro Kuwata Batmanga has now been translated from Japanese to English, and is posed to be a weekly release in the DC Comics Digital store, each release will be priced 99 cents, from this Saturday (5th July 2014) on we can finally feast our eyes on the work, with additional perks of reading with the Japanese sequence panal of right-to-left. Prints are also posed for a release this year with 1,000-plus-page run across three paperback volumes.

For Batman fanatics, Lord Death Man, if you can remember, appeared at the start of Grant Morrison’s epic (pre New52) ‘Batman Incorporated’ run, from chapter 1-2, with art by Yanick Paquette.

Are you excited and will you be picking up BatManga this weekend?

Also, Kuwata’s art is very distinctive and will be a lot of fun seeing the Dynamic Duo once again with a traditional feel of Batman’66.
