The rogues are coming together as Arrow casts Nick Tarabay as Digger Harkness, otherwise known by his villainous alter ego, Captain Boomerang.
In the comics, Captain Boomerang is a recurring adversary of the Flash whose signature weapon includes boomerangs, hence the name. This iteration of the character will be a former A.R.G.U.S operative, skilled in martial arts and espionage, looking to exact vengeance against his former employers.
Captain Boomerang is only one of many members of the Rogues, a criminal association, who has been cast. Prison Break alums Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will play Captain Cold and Heatwave respectively.
Like Weather Wizard, who makes his debut in the pilot, Captain Cold will be given a proper origin story in episode 4 of The Flash that will help lay the foundation for the rest of the Rogues. The episode will reference Heatwave, but the character’s introduction still remains in question.
Captain Boomerang will be introduced in the seventh episode of the upcoming third season and continue onto the eighth for the Arrow/The Flash crossover episode. What can fans expect from this two-episode, two-night event? With an episode entitled “Flash vs. Arrow,” “there will be some real fisticuffs between our heroes,” said The Flash’s executive producer Greg Berlanti.
The Flash makes its debut Tuesday, Oct. 9, and Arrow returns Wednesday, Oct. 8 on the CW.
