This month DC Entertainment launched an exclusive four-issue collection of DC Comics’ JUSTICE LEAGUE: ORIGIN on the iBook as part of the Great Free Books feature. The New York Times bestselling mini-series is an all-new origin story for the Justice League team including the DC trinity Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Right now, it is available for free on the iBooks.
Behind the JUSTICE LEAGUE: ORIGIN is writer Geoff Johns and artist Jim Lee and was the comic that kicked off the New 52 and allowed for Johns and Lee to re-imagine the team dynamic and the iconic heroes of the DC Universe for the 21st century. The following is the synopsis provided by DC Comics:
“In a world where inexperienced super heroes operate under a cloud of suspicion from the public, loner vigilante Batman has stumbled upon a dark evil that threatens to destroy the earth as we know it. Now, faced with a threat far beyond anything he can handle on his own, the Dark Knight must trust an alien, a scarlet speedster, an accidental teenage hero, a space cop, an Amazon Princess and an undersea monarch. Will this combination of Superman, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Aquaman be able to put aside their differences and come together to save the world? Or will they destroy each other first?”
This is an incredible opportunity for fans to get relive the beginning of the new 52 and is a great opportunity to introduce new readers into the comic book side of DC Entertainment.
