There’s been much speculation lately as to whether or not CBS’ upcoming Supergirl series will crossover with Arrow and/ or The Flash on The CW, not only because they are sister stations, but also due to the fact that all three shows are produced by Greg Berlanti. Well, that seems to have been shot down by  CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler when asked about a possible inter-network deal at TCA: “That’s a different network so I think we’re going to keep Supergirl to ourself right now.”

Even if a crossover never happens, we can’t rule out the possibility of the three shows occupying the same universe. Though you have to wonder what attracted CBS to the Girl of Steel. Tassler had this to say: “We fell in love with the pitch. She’s a great character. I love the superhero genre….There is a human drama there. We’re watching an evolution to the way superhero characters are portrayed.”

Stay tuned to DCN for the latest news as pilot shooting season draws near. The roles of Supergirl, Cat Grant, James Olsen, Winslow “Wynn” Schott (Toyman) and Hank Henshaw (Cyborg Superman) have yet to be cast.
