Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice will hit theaters worldwide in just under one year. We have seen official portraits of the main characters over the last twelve months, with each one being introduced separately. Each character reveal has brought debate, conversation, and hype with the most recent one being Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenenberg).

Henry Cavill is back as Superman and he would be battle hardened from what took place in Man of Steel. As a younger superhero, he still needs to find his place in the world and with a host of other characters coming into the fold now, his circumstances are bound to change.

Ben Affleck has consumed headlines for the last 12 months after being cast as an older Batman. Much has been talked about regarding the confrontation between him and Superman. With inspiration drawn from Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns, it is safe to say we are all pretty excited with what we may end up seeing on the big screen.

Gal Gadot was cast to play Wonder Woman. She has received her fair share of criticism from hard core fans who don’t believe she can live up to the role we have come to love in the comics. Take it with a grain of salt, Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger received the same criticism. We all know how that ended.

Jason Momoa will be playing the iconic Aquaman. I personally can’t think of anyone more suited to the role. He will give us a different persona of the character that we have not seen before. Can’t wait to see him come out of the depths of the sea!

Last but not least, Jesse Eisenenberg will be playing Lex Luthor. A brilliant choice! We have been told that this role will be very different to what we have come to know of the villain in the comics. Snyder tells EW:

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”

As each character has been revealed, we now have a “deck” of portraits for you all in one place. Enjoy the gallery below of the characters that will make history on the big screen in 2016. They have been placed in the same order as they where released.
