The 1960’s Dynamic Duo are back!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic 1966 Batman T.V. series, DC will be releasing a full-length animated film staring Adam West and Burt Ward.
West and Ward made the announcement while on a panel at this weekend’s Mad Monster Con.
“You can look forward to a new, animated Batman full-length 90-minute feature coming out on the fiftieth anniversary. One of possibly two, but for sure one, that Adam and I are going to be doing the voices for.” – Burt Ward.
This news comes after the long awaited release of the 1966 series on DVD and Blue-Ray late last year – more good news for classic bat-fans everywhere. The film, which presumably will be set in the T.V. show’s universe much like the Batman ’66Â comic series, will come out next year. There has also been some speculation that its release will possibly coincided with the release of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
No word yet, however, on whether any other former bat-stars will be reprising their roles, or on whether the possible second animated film Ward briefly mentioned will also go ahead.
