After news recently dropped that Michelle MacLaren left the Wonder Woman movie, many a fan had the knee-jerk reaction that it was because “she knows it’s gonna suck.”
Really?
Creative differences happen all the time in Hollywood and, from what I’ve heard, the split was for the better. Well, a new director has already filled the void: Patty Jenkins (Monster). You may remember her as the original choice to direct Thor: The Dark World, which she exited.
See: creative differences happen everywhere. Even the mighty Marvel Studios has had many a director and creative talent exit their fold and they can do no wrong in the eyes of many. I wish Ms. Jenkins all the luck in the world and look forward to seeing her vision of the Amazon Princess come to the big screen.
Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot as the title character, opens in theaters June 23, 2017.
