A few weeks ago it was confirmed that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie/21 Jumpstreet) will be writing the upcoming DC/WB adaptation of the Scarlett Speedster. Not much else surrounding the movie has been released other than the fact that Ezra Miller will be playing Central City’s hero. Today Lord announced that [Ezra] Miller would more than likely be playing some version of Barry Allen. With so much separation between the television and cinematic universes this news came as a little bit of a surprise. Assuming they wouldn’t be using Jay Garrick, I naturally guessed that in regards to the DC Cinematic Universe that under the red suit Ezra Miller would be portraying Wally West. Being wrong has never not effected me so much. Two Barry Allen’s is something I might be able to subscribe to.

Lord had this to say about the current script.

“We’re trying to break a story,” says Lord. “It’s interesting, because there’s a really popular TV show out there, and we’re trying to carve out space for the movie that’s apart from that. I think we’re doing alright. …I believe [our Flash] is going to be Barry Allen. …We’re more trying to stick with the cinematic universe… it really is its own thing and is kind of stand-alone movie. We’re just trying to think of the best story. I think you guys will like it, it’s kind of a different take on superhero stuff. I’m optimistic!”

Not only will Ezra Miller appear in the solo Flash film he is also expected to be in Justice League: Part 1. Now knowing that Miller will be Barry Allen, does that confirm Hal Jordan in the universe? Wally West would have been a no doubt “Here comes John Stewart” situation. With one member left of the league, who do you want to see play Green Lantern?

Currently Grant Gustin is playing Barry Allen on The CW’s The Flash. He is killing it as The Fastest Man Alive. As a long time Flash fan it has been stunning to watch Gustin bring my favorite hero to life on-screen. Tonight the first season wraps up and it has been a crazy ride. Grodd, The Rogues, and Reverse-Flash have all made an appearance and more are sure to come.

Be sure to tune in tonight and catch the season finale of The Flash on The CW at 8/7c
