It appears the Jason Momoa led Aquaman film has found its director. He’s responsible for directing one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters.
James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring and Furious 7) has inked a deal to develop and direct the  feature based on the King of Atlantis; a film which will also continue creating the DC Cinematic Universe after next summer’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Wan will also oversee the script currently being prepped by writer Kurt Johnstad (300 and Act Of Valor).
After the success of Furious Seven, several studios have vied for Wan’s director skills. In addition to the Warner Bros./DC Comics’ property Aquaman, he has also been hired by Sony to helm an adaptation of the popular 1980s anime Robotech.
In a recent interview, Warner President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Greg Silverman said “The Aquaman film will be a major tentpole picture for us and James’s span of work has proven him able to take on any manner of project, bringing his incredible creative talent and unique voice to the material.”
