I am sure that most of you have seen the artwork of the World War II inspired artwork for DC Comics most loved heroines as well as villains in a pin-up style of art. But now we can have more than just the wonderful stickers, and busts that seem to be coming out and add the comics to our collections. That’s right DC Comics is having a DC Comics Bombshells. The artwork is done by Marguerite Sauvage, who is taking the daily and mundane and making it a little bit brighter for us all with his new take on the pin-up trend. In an interview with Newsarama Sauvage had this to say about the comic’s pin-up style of artwork,
I didn’t want them to look like super-sexy pin-ups in their everyday life, but rather like the warriors and heroes they are, fighting with their everyday thoughts and concerns, reflecting more and more the serious and intense heaviness of the World War II conflict,
Now the main point behind this lovely comic is that it is the women who were the first to go to war, so Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Harley Quinn, Batwoman, and a few more all were the ones to go to war and had a different part to play in the war as each character is covered in a different chapter. Now this doesn’t mean that you have to wait for one chapter to end before seeing your favorite character show up. Also don’t get discouraged if you want to see your male super heroes as well, they will be in there too and I am sure they will look dashing. If you can’t wait for the physical comic to come out August 12th, there is a digital copy that is available online.
