Emma Caulfield, best known for portraying Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has officially signed on to join the cast of Supergirl as Cameron Chase.
Chase, according to The Mary Sue, will be a tough FBI agent looking for justice. “After her father’s violent murder, Cameron Chase decided to dedicate her life to law enforcement. Now a stern, no holds barred FBI agent, Chase’s weapons of choice are manipulation and manpower. With little sympathy, and plenty of suspicions, she pursues her targets with ruthless determination.”
Chase made her first appearance in “Batman” #550 and then leading her own title, “Chase”, by Dan Curtis Johnson, J.H. Williams III and Mick Gray. In the New 52 continuity Chase first appeared in “Batwoman” #1, and has been investigating Kate Kane on behalf of the DEO for suspected terrorist activities. Chase is a talented investigator and computer hacker; however she also possesses the ability to dampen the powers of Metahumans when threatened.
As well as playing Anya on long running fan favourite, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Caulfield also portrayed Emma Bradshaw, a series regular on Life Unexpected, and Sasha on family drama Gigantic.
You can catch Supergirl Mondays at 8pm EST on CBS.
