Time Hopping Hero could become part if DC Extended Universe
Michael Jon Carter has seen many false start in his quest to fame. And not just as the glory-seeking hero known as Booster Gold. Several attempts have been made to bring the character to television in his own series and/or a feature film. Now, word comes from Arrow and The Flash EP Greg Berlanti that a Booster Gold film is closer to development. He may even helm the movie.
“I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now. I’d probably direct that, or I would want to.”
Berlanti also revealed why he’s hesitant to direct a feature film version of the Scarlet Speedster. And he offers advice to whomever fills the role left vacant by former director Seth Grahame-Smith.
“No one’s discussed that with me, but I could never direct a Flash movie that Grant Gustin wasn’t the lead of,” he stated. “He’s my Flash.” “We have three words above the door [of the Flash writers room]: “Heart, humor and spectacle. If you’re going to do something like The Flash, part of what made Barry Allen so great was that he was this guy in the middle of all these superheroes who couldn’t believe that he was there, and he loved it.”
With Berlanti’s involvement, hopefully Booster Gold will finally get the fame he desperately desires. Stay tuned.
