‘Love Is Love’: DC and IDW Team Up for Orlando Shootings Anthology

This December DC Comics and IDW are coming together to publish an anthology in remembrance of the June 12th Orlando nightclub shootings. The shootings took place in the Pulse nightclub killing 49 people and injuring 53 more. The shooting was the biggest terrorist attack in the US since the 9/11 attacks and was aimed at Latino gay and bisexual men. the anthology is entitled “Love is Love” which will have over 100 comic creators contributing stories and all proceeds go to Equality Florida to benefit the survivors of the attack.

The New York Times announced today that the anthology is the work of Marc Andreyko (BATWOMAN, MANHUNTER) who was inspired by the ’80s charity work of We Are The World and Live Aid. Those initially announced for the anthology are comedian Patton Oswalt, Lost’s Damon Lindelof, Superwoman‘s Phil Jimenez and The Unworthy Thor‘s Olivier Coipel. Via Twitter several more creators have announced their involvement including Steve Orlando with Iain Laurie, James Tynion IV will team with Molly Osertag, and James Asmus, Ryan Ferrier and Ming Doyle are also collaborating as part of the project.

The anthology will clock in at 100 1 or 2 page stories across 144 pages, and will be sold for $9.99.  All proceeds will benefit the survivors of the shooting via Equality Florida.
