If you are an actor working in the industry, and you’re promoting a new project but you are also one of the few who get to work on a major comic-book related project, you’re going to get asked about the latter at some point during an interview. Such was the case with Oscar winner Nicole Kidman who was being interviewed about a current project but the conversation eventually led to her upcoming role in Aquaman but she did have a few things to say.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kidman was promoting her upcoming film The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, which will released later this year, when she was then asked about her film that will be released in late 2018, Aquaman.
In that movie, she will playing Atlanna, Aquaman’s mother and queen to the underwater empire of Atlantis. In the interview she commented on her approach to the film the following:
“I got to be a mermaid. I got to be a Queen. I got to wear a crown. I got to lie on a rock with my hair strewn and blood and I kind of liked it. I’m not a mermaid, I don’t have a tail. I have a crown and I have a particular way of looking. I am a Queen.”
The comment of hair strewn on a blood covered rock might suggest an action sequence where she is under attack. If one were to dive deeper and try to infer some more, you might say that Atlantis comes under attack at some point at the monarchy is the target. Again that is only speculation but it wouldn’t be unusual to see something like that.
Aquaman releases on December 21, 2018.
