Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 begins this week, but already fans may be more excited for an episode later in the season. In a recent interview, Legends showrunner Phil Klemmer confirmed that sardonic British sorcerer John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan) would appear in the show’s third season.

Ever since the character’s eponymous show was cancelled in 2015, dedicated fans have campaigned to bring Matt Ryan’s version of the character into the Arrowverse, which happened in a single episode of Arrow‘s fourth season. At the time, Klemmer had commented that it “would be a crime” not to work Constantine into Legends, and it looks as though he is making good on those words.

The exact plot details of Constantine’s arrival have yet to be revealed, but the character already has an established Arrowverse connection to Sara Lance/White Canary, whose soul he resurrected in his Arrow appearance.

Matt Ryan recently reprised his role as Constantine for the animated Justice League Dark film, and will do so again for the upcoming animated Constantine series on The CW Seed.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 premieres on October 10, 2017.
