Titans TV Series Casting Call Might Confirm Trigon

There has been a recently revealed casting call that may hint that Trigon is coming to DC’s live-action series Titans.

The TV series has been in development since back in 2014 when it was still attached to the TNT network. Then about a year and a half ago, the network dropped the project before DC Comics announced that the show was still happening, but would premiere on DC’s digital service, which will be launched later this year. It has been a rough time for the young heroes, but finally fans can rejoice that the Teen Titans will be coming to life in live-action!

As the 2018 release date comes closer, we can see, from the past few months, a clearer picture on what it will look like. Last month, we saw a reveal of Brenton Thwaites in full Robin outfit, and after that we saw Hawk (Alan Ritchson) and Dove (Minka Kelly) in full gear. As of today, we are still waiting for the other Teen Titans like Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven in full costume, but a recent report has surfaced that the latter will be having an unexpected familial connection.

Raven, in the comics, is the daughter of a human mother and a demon father, Trigon. While Trigon has been an integral part when it comes to Raven’s backstory, few fans have speculated that he will make an appearance in the series. At least not right out of the gate. On a recent Titans Podcast, it was discussed that Trigon might debut in season one. Check out a casting call description below which matches up with Trigon:

[EVAN LOGUE]: Male, Late 30s-40s, Caucasian. Charismatic. A cult leader attempting to reunite his family. Central role for series finale. RECURRING GUEST STAR. Please submit star/cameo names. Casting early for wardrobe but the role works Ep. 111 (04/09-04/19) and Ep. 112 (04/19 – 05/01)

There has been previous casting calls that suggests that big names in the DC Comics will be dropping by the series like Donna Troy and Roy Harper. Also, in one of those breakdowns, it suggests that there will be a guest appearance of Raven’s mother so it is possible that his old man may come for a cup of tea or whatever a demon-god drinks.

Also, it is best to keep in mind that Trigon is an enormous fire demon which can be brought to life in a super, expensive CGI way (man, how much is the budget for this TV series?). Well, Trigon can take up a human form as a means to deceive. But given the description above that he will be set up for the last two episodes as the big bad, hopefully we get to see him in his glorious appearance and not just a cheap knock-off because of some budgetary reasons, I’m looking at you Smallville.
