Summary

Meet the founding member of the Gotham City Garage: Black Canary! But where has she been all these years? And what secrets await in the dark caves of the dreaded Demon’s Head?

Positives

This was a great issue.  We finally got to see where Black Canary has been this whole time and how she figures in to the events about to take place.  Canary has always been a badass character in the comics, and having her become the new Ra’s al Ghul takes that to the next level.

Now we will have the full force of the League of Shadows joining the Garage in their fight against Luthor for the Freescape.  This is building toward something amazing, and I can’t wait too see what happens next.

Also, the art in this issue is great.  Aneke is one of my favorite artists in this series.  Her attention to detail is impeccable.  It’s why this and the Bombshell books are some of my favorites.

Negatives

In a dystopian world like this, why does Oliver Queen still have that goofy-looking hipster goatee?  This would’ve been the perfect time to rough up his look a bit.

Verdict

Overall, this was a fantastic issue.  This series is building toward something special, and I just can’t wait for the war to begin!
