Ever since Wonder Woman gained worldwide success both with the critics and at the box office, the superhero world has been led by “girl power.” Â Patty Jenkins hit a home run when she led Diana off the Island of Themyscira and into the world, and now DC Films and Warner Bros has decided that female directors heading up their female hero movies is a necessity.
Director Cathy Yan has been chosen to direct the all-female gang flick, Birds of Prey starring Margot Robbie, and now Warner Bros wants female directors for both their Supergirl and Batgirl solo flicks.
They are looking for a female director for both Batgirl and Supergirl!

Scooper, @DanielRPK has uncovered that Warner Bros is seeking a female director for Batgirl now that Joss Whedon is off of the project and a female director for Supergirl, which was announced by Warner Bros for development last week.
With this announcement, there is no doubt that the future of superhero movies is full of “girl power.”
