The comic book movie world has been buzzing for months about Joaquin Phoenix and not only his role as The Joker but every aspect of the movie which begins production next month in New York City.

With a role like The Joker, it comes with a lot of pressure.  Pressure to perform in the box office, pressure from the film critics, but especially from the fans themselves.  Comic book fans love their characters and have always shared a special bond with them so taking on this type of role is always a heavy task, but Phoenix doesn’t have time to worry about the opinions of others.

When asked about the pressure of this role Phoenix replied:

“I could care less…I don’t really think that much about what people think.  Who cares, who cares? My approach to every movie is the same. What I’m interested in is the filmmaker and the idea of the character.”

Phoenix is a multi-award winning actor and takes every role seriously, and this role will be given the same focus.

Joker hits theaters on October 4th, 2019.
