New details have surfaced about what role Marc Maron will play in Todd Phillips upcoming Joker movie.
Maron himself confirmed recently that he had been cast in the movie and praised the writing for the film. Since then, little has been shared regarding which character he’ll be playing, besides the fact that he would be employed by Robert De Niro’s character.
News relating to the film itself have begun to surface. We’ve heard that the filmmakers are targeting an R rating as well as castings rumours, most notably Alec Baldwin being cast as Thomas Wayne. The latter has since been refuted by Baldwin himself.
New details just released by THS, report Maron’s role as a long-time producer of De Niro’s talk show host. His role will also be more of a limited one with his character only set to be included in scenes involving De Niro’s character.
Of course, filming is still several weeks off so there’s always room for character changes. The script could always be altered with Maron’s character being expanded, depending on how filming takes shape.
