Kevin Smith is back inside the Arrowverse and preparing to direct an episode of Supergirl for the upcoming fourth season and he is wasting no time setting the internet ablaze with rumours and speculation. Â Smith took to his Twitter and shared a picture of a very curious looking mask and his name tag.
We start shooting @TheCWSupergirl on Monday. Based on my name placard, someone has made the grave error of putting me in charge… pic.twitter.com/m9B1Y6cx3L

The mask seems to be the same worn by Agent Liberty (played by Sam Witwer) and the character is about to become a major antagonist on Supergirl this season as the leader of the anti-alien hate group, the Children of Liberty.
The anti-alien message will be very prominent throughout season four, before and after the episode directed by Kevin Smith. Â The show star, Melissa Benoist recently spoke on the filming of season four.
“The writers’ room is being really great this year. Â Last season, it was a lot of fire and brimsonte and a lot of homages to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was great because I was such a big fan of that show. Â This season they really want to thematically tackle more tropical stories that maybe mirror what’s going on with the state of the world and our country. Â There’s a lot of anti-alien sentiment at the beginning of Season 4 that Supergirl is going to have to grapple with. Â I think main premise is that fear itself is a villain, and can hope conquer it? Â Supergirl stands for hope, so we’ll see. Â I think fear is her biggest opponent yet because it’s more of a wildfire-type emotion.”
