With Wonder Woman 84 set to premiere early next year, the movie’s director, Patty Jenkins, revealed that she is already making plans for how the current storyline should end. As of yet, there are no official announcements on the production of a third Wonder Woman movie.
Recently, Patty Jenkins sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair in order to promote one of her upcoming projects, the tv show I Am The Night, starring Chris Pine. During the course of the interview, Jenkins was asked about what the future holds for her and her involvement with the Wonder Woman movie franchise. She had this to say:
“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
It is safe to say that Jenkins currently enjoys the love and support from the DC Faithful as well as movie fans in general. In many people’s minds, if Jenkins wants to direct Wonder Woman again, she should get the position.
It is entirely possible that Jenkins offered these remarks so early, especially a year before the second movie comes out, in order to improve her position when eventually negotiations as to whether or not she would direct WW3 take place.
On lighter note, if in fact Jenkins already has plot points for a third movie, it would bode well for the quality of such film.
