Titans Season 2 has been making the news quite a bit recently with all the casting announcements, but none have been as significant as this one. Scottish actor, Iain Glen, who is best known as Jorah Mormont on the HBO series Game of Thrones has been cast to play Bruce Wayne in the upcoming season.
It isn’t clear how big a role Batman or Bruce Wayne will play in the second season, but after Batman’s appearance in the first season it’s possible Glen’s Batman might not even be real. He may be a hallucination created by Trigon. If he is real, then going for an older Wayne could make his character more like the Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond, where he works behind the scenes but no longer dons the cape and cowl.
Here’s the official character description from the producers:
After decades of fighting crime as Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne is just as driven to protect Gotham from evil as he was in his prime. Needing to reconcile his relationship with Dick Grayson, the duo hope to forge a new dynamic as Bruce tries to help his former sidekick and the Titans achieve success.
This year marks Batman’s 80th anniversary in DC Comics. The Titans Season 2 casting news combined with the upcoming Joker movie from Todd Phillips, Matt Reeves working on the film The Batman, a new Alfred series in the works as well as a new Batwoman series it’s obvious DC Comics and Warner Brothers are bringing the celebration to the fans.
